The San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art has debuted “The Buses Are Coming,” an exhibit located near the Park + Market Trolley Station (Orange + Blue Lines) in downtown’s East Village.
The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System says the exhibit showcases the legacy of Freedom Riders — groups of civil rights activists who took part in bus trips across the US during the early 1960s to protest segregation in bus terminals.
It’ll be on display through Labor Day. 🗓️

Editor’s pick: Happy summer, San Diego. I got a chance to check out The Magnolia last weekend — the renovated concert + events venue formerly known as the East County Performing Arts Center. There’s seating for 1,200 fans and the courtyard was lovely once the weather cooled down. I’ve got eyes on the venue’s schedule for the rest of 2022, which includes comedy, live music, and ballet performances. 🎶
